About the School:

The school encompasses two sites in Dorchester with one common shared purpose: to provide the very best in education and support for all children who (for a variety of reasons) find themselves outside of mainstream school education. The school is an alternative provision that uses vocational and extracurricular methods to enable the students to gain functional and life skills. With a primary and secondary division, the school is inclusive of all ages and abilities and strives to give its pupils the best possible opportunities for post 16 life. 

About the Role:

As a SEN Supply Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining continuity and fostering a positive learning environment. Embrace the versatility of being a SEN Supply Teacher and contribute to the educational journey of young minds in Dorchester. This role will involve teaching a variety of classes across different year groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lessons to mixed-age groups in primary class, ensuring all students make progress.
  • Adapt lessons and teaching methods to cater to individual learning needs and abilities.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and promote focused learning.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to support students' academic and personal development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience of teaching primary school children (preferred, not mandatory).
