Accounts Assistant
  • Job Type: Temporary assignment for 1-2 months 
  • Location: Dorking, parking on site 
  • Working Hours: 20-21 hours (flexible on whether these are worked across 3-5 days)
  • Hourly rate: £15.18 per hour PAYE or £18.84 per hour via an Umbrella company. 

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth operation of our financial processes. You will be assisting a small accounts team with data entry and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Supporting the preparation of financial reports, summaries, and month-end statements.
  • Performing accurate data entry and maintaining up-to-date financial records.
  • Processing invoices, handling accounts payable and receivable, and managing payments and receipts.
  • Addressing inquiries from suppliers, customers, and colleagues regarding accounts and payments.
  • Carrying out general administrative duties, including filing, data management, and assisting with internal and external telephone queries for the department.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Currently studying towards AAT qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience with purchase ledger and sales invoicing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for liaising with internal and external parties.
  • Good organisational skills, including time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively within a small team.
Desirable:
  • AAT qualified or a degree in accounting or equivalent.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of MRP and QuickBooks.
  • Negotiation skills.
