Oliver James are partnered with a leading provider in the employee benefits sector, in hiring a Risk and Capital Actuary into their Actuarial team.

The Job

  • Analyse and report on demographic and economic experience to support business decision-making.

  • Apply actuarial judgement and data analysis to set assumptions and calibrate capital stresses for the internal model.

  • Produce comprehensive reports on experience and capital metrics.

  • Contribute to wider business initiatives and capital-related projects.

  • Engage regularly with senior stakeholders, delivering insights and recommendations clearly and effectively.

  • Mentor and support actuarial students and newly qualified actuaries.

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors and validation teams to ensure accuracy and integrity of actuarial processes.

  • Support actuarial students across the team on the delivery of projects.

The Candidate

  • Qualified Life actuary

  • Strong understanding of Solvency II and UK regulatory frameworks

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure

  • Strong IT proficiency
