Premises Manager’s Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of school facilities, ensuring everything is compliant and in top condition.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, from heating and lighting to security systems.
  • Manage contractors and liaise with suppliers to keep the school running smoothly.
  • Ensure the site is clean, safe, and ready for students and staff each day.
  • Supervise and support the Estates team, including caretakers and cleaning staff.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure health & safety compliance.
  • Be the go-to person for emergency response procedures like fire drills and security checks.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Facilities, estates, or premises management experience - ideally in a school or similar setting.
  • Strong maintenance skills and hands-on problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • A proactive mindset - you can spot issues before they become problems!
  • Leadership experience - managing a small team or contractors.
  • Basic IT skills and ability to use facilities management software.
  • A full UK driving licence is beneficial.
