Are you an experienced Material Controller looking for an exciting opportunity in an engineering/manufacturing environment? We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to join our team in Dorking.

About the Role:

As a Material Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring inventory accuracy and material availability. Your primary responsibilities will include managing inventory counts, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records within our ERP system. You will also support engineering change management (ECN) and material master data management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct physical inventory counts, document results, and update ERP system records.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Post inventory differences up to an authorised value and escalate issues as needed.
  • Oversee inventory counting compliance audits.
  • Manage weekly/monthly administrative tasks, including KPI reporting.
  • Maintain material master data and produce material movement reports.
  • Support engineering change management (ECN) processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in a multidisciplinary environment, ideally within engineering, manufacturing, or automotive sectors.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse inventory management, reporting, and cycle counting.
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems, along with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and preferably Visio).
  • Ability to read technical drawings and documents.
  • Experience with automated stores systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a wider team.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience with automotive parts aftersales.
  • Familiarity with SAP MM/IM.
  • Forklift truck license (Counterbalance or Reach) or willingness to train.
