Role Overview:We are seeking a skilled Locum Planning Solicitor to provide legal expertise and support to our Planning Team. This fabulous opportunity involves negotiating, drafting, and completing Section 106 Agreements and offering ad hoc legal advice on planning matters. If you have experience in both routine and non-routine planning challenges and, ideally, are comfortable advising on contentious enforcement issues, please apply ASAP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, negotiate, and complete Section 106 Agreements, including complex and non-routine obligations.
  • Provide timely, ad hoc legal advice to the Planning Team.
  • (Desirable) Offer advocacy and advice on contentious planning enforcement issues as required.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • 3 years of experience focused on planning matters.
  • Proven experience in negotiating and drafting Section 106 Agreements.
  • Strong understanding of planning law and practical knowledge of public sector planning processes.
  • Current Practising Certificate (without endorsements).
  • Membership in the Law Society.
  • Ability to provide clear and practical advice to non-legal staff.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Planning enforcement experience is desirable

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Practising Certificate (without endorsements).
  • Law Society membership.
  • 3 years of employment history focused on planning matters.
  • Two professional references.
