Private Client Solicitor - 5 years + PQE (Dorking)A well-established and respected law firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Private Client Fee-earner with experience in Trusts to join its dedicated team in Dorking. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to ongoing success while developing a career in a supportive and professional environment.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and assistance to clients on a broad range of private client matters, including wills, probate, estate administration, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • Manage a varied caseload efficiently, ensuring high-quality service and timely resolution of cases.
  • Draft and prepare key legal documents, such as wills, lasting powers of attorney, and trust deeds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Advise clients on estate planning, including inheritance tax planning and the establishment and management of trusts.
  • Handle estate administration, including obtaining grants of probate or letters of administration, liaising with HMRC on inheritance tax matters, and overseeing the distribution of estate assets.
  • Maintain exceptional client care by providing clear, practical, and sensitive advice tailored to individual client needs.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) guidelines and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated with developments in private client law and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a minimum of 5 years' PQE in private client law.
  • Demonstrable experience in trusts and estate planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for clients.
  • Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all legal documentation and communications.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in sensitive situations.
  • Proficiency in case management systems and standard office software.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
