Our client is a leading homebuilder recognised for delivering high-quality residential developments across the South East of England. As they continue to expand, we are searching for an experienced Senior Planning Manager to join their dynamic team.

Role Overview:
In this pivotal role, the Senior Planning Manager will be responsible for managing the planning process for new residential developments, ensuring the successful delivery of planning permissions and compliance with regulations. You will work closely with internal departments and external stakeholders, reporting directly to the Land and Planning Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective planning strategies for residential projects.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of planning applications, appeals, and associated documents.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, consultants, architects, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on current and future projects.
  • Lead pre-application negotiations and manage planning conditions.
  • Provide expert advice on site feasibility, risks, and opportunities.
  • Represent the company at public consultations, planning committees, and community events.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, promoting continuous development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Chartered membership of the RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute) preferred.
  • Extensive experience in residential planning, either within a developer, consultancy, or local authority.
  • Deep knowledge of UK planning law, policies, and regulations.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • A proactive mindset and problem-solving skills.
