We are seeking a Category Officer to join the Procurement team. This permanent role involves contributing to the delivery of the procurement work plan, ensuring value for money in all transactions, and adhering to relevant policies and procedures. The successful candidate will deliver strategic procurement services across specific sourcing categories and manage procurement projects to achieve contract compliance, sustainable cost improvements, and benefits for all stakeholders.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Contribute to the delivery of the procurement work plan by ensuring all transactions achieve value for money and comply with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Deliver strategic procurement services for specific sourcing categories and contribute to procurement projects within key markets.
  • Ensure contract compliance in allocated categories and pursue procurement excellence through efficient and effective project implementation.
  • Meet stakeholder requirements by demonstrating best value for money through compliance with category priorities and contracts.
  • Actively manage the marketplace by developing key strategies for supplier and contract management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree or CIPS Level 4 or above or equivalent relevant qualifications.
  • Proficient in statistical and data analysis to include excellent Excel skills
  • Experience of working within EU Procurement Directives and/or Public Contracts Regulation 2015.
