About the Role
As a school caretaker, you will be reliable and proactive at a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school. This role is vital to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for our students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily maintenance tasks, repairs, and general upkeep of the school premises.
- Ensure the site is clean, secure, and compliant with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Conduct routine checks, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and security systems.
- Manage contractors on-site and oversee larger maintenance projects.
- Support the school by setting up and maintaining classrooms, hall spaces, and outdoor areas for various activities.
- Monitor and maintain stock of cleaning and maintenance supplies
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in a caretaker or similar role.
- A strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Practical DIY skills and the ability to carry out minor repairs.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to work in an environment supporting children with SEMH needs.
