Preparation Technician

Type: Permanent

Location: Dover
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM (flexibility required for occasional production demand). 38 hours per week.

Pay: 24,700 P/A

Job Purpose:
To prepare board and print materials ready for the production line, meeting customer specifications and standards while achieving the daily planned output.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate preparation machinery, including die-cutting and case covering/lining, to deliver quality outputs that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with production teams to meet production plans and customer commitments.
  • Maintain high-quality standards in all production activities.
  • Minimise waste by promptly reporting issues to the Team Leader.
  • Conduct timely repairs of production machinery breakdowns.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Use company systems effectively, maintain accurate stock levels, and interpret product drawings and line plans.
  • Identify and implement improvements within the preparation area.
  • Maintain a safe and contamination-free working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with production teams and Team Leaders to achieve production goals.
  • Support new product testing and trials.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager.
  • Undertake relevant training and support training efforts for others, including temporary technical support staff.

Person Specification:
Knowledge and expertise required (or the ability to develop these skills quickly through training):

  • Operation of auto die-cutting machines.
  • Experience with Emmeci liner machinery.
  • Proven mechanical and general maintenance skills.
  • Proficiency with machinery operation and basic computer use.
  • Strong numeracy skills.
