The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Project Engineer (LTD) to join our team working on a water treatment plant project for Southern Water in Kent. You will play a vital role in the successful delivery of this critical infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Engineering:

  • Provide technical expertise for all electrical aspects of the project, including design review, specification development, and construction supervision.
  • Ensure that electrical systems comply with relevant regulations, standards, and Southern Water specifications.
  • Coordinate with electrical subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of electrical works.
  • Project Management:
  • Assist the project manager in planning, scheduling, and managing the electrical scope of the project.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans for the electrical component.
  • Monitor progress and identify potential risks or issues related to electrical works.

Construction Oversight:

  • Provide on-site supervision and guidance during the installation and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Ensure that electrical work is performed according to specifications and safety standards.
  • Conduct inspections and testing of electrical systems.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including electrical drawings, specifications, test reports, and handover documents.
  • Provide regular progress reports and updates to the project manager.

Collaboration:

  • Work effectively with other project team members, including engineers, construction managers, subcontractors, and Southern Water representatives.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Project Engineer on water treatment or related infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems
  • Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., IET Wiring Regulations, BS 7671).
  • Experience with construction documentation, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with Southern Water or other water utilities.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and control systems used in water treatment plants.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
