A new instruction for an experienced High Voltage Repairs Technician with an established organisation in the area.

Core Purpose of the role:

Responsibility for both pre-planned and reactive servicing and maintenance of our clients range of cable test vans and High Voltage instruments at their new service centre, which can accommodate 2 test vans.

You would be expected to meet and exceed the required standards, whilst also driving improvements.

Contributing to the departments KPI’s and objectives.

Deliver the teams core activities, whilst embracing business process improvements to enhance productivity and performance.

The Role, in summary:

The role reports to the Service Manager.

Must be self-motivated and versatile, as well as having some experience working on HV instrumentation.

Detailed product training programme will be available on all products.

As a Mobile Technician, you will need to carry out planned and scheduled maintenance and reactive tasks following unforeseen breakdowns.

Specific Activities:

Travel to customer sites and carry out high and low voltage repairs and inspections

Produce service tour inspection reports, including H &S checks and risk assessments

Reporting: completion of inspection reports, product and maintain maintenance schedules, maintain test/repair reports, raise issues highlighter etc

Repairs: support calibration, repairs, production when required, manage common fault reports, carry out minor adjustments and repairs on HV instruments, complete allocated work on time, perform housekeeping in compliance with the 5s principles

Customer Service: responding to customer enquiries, producing customer service reports

Technical Skills/Knowledge we are looking for:

BTEC qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering

JIB approved

Familiarity with the repairs and servicing of HV products

Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems

Knowledge of H & S practices within with HV

Proactive approach to problem solving

The ability to work under pressure and often within time constraints

A flexible, positive, innovative ad motivated approach to your work

Full UK driving licence

Hours of work/Package:

37 hours per week

Monday to Thursday 08:00am to 16:30pm

Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm

Lunch 30 mins excluding Friday

Salary: circa £35K ++ flexible and open to negotiation around experience**

** There is an element of travel required with this position, so there is a 20% uplift to the salary when the Team are on a Service Tour.

The time spent outside the UK is typically very low:

60% based in Dover, 25% UK travel and 5% other training/travel.
