Our client is a well-established freight forwarding company with its head office in the UK and is one of Europe's most successful third-party freight booking and independent customs clearance agents. Part of a group of successful freight forwarding companies nationwide

They handle customs clearance and serve some of the World's largest freight forwarders and an extremely varied client base of UK exporters and importers. Now to facilitate ongoing expansion and succession plans my client is looking to appoint a new Customs Operations Manager to help run the Dover office


Role

Working as part of the management team the successful candidate will focus on the following key responsibilities:

* Staff management (Mentoring, motivating and supporting the team).
* Hands on Operations management.
* Profit & Loss responsibility.
* Problem solving where required.
* Identifying areas to improve the efficiency of the business.
* Key Account Management.
* Business development (existing clients & new opportunities).
* Generating & Calculating quotations.
* Compliance management.
* Facilities management.
* Attending the weekly operations / sales / management meetings.

Experience / skills required

* 10+ Years Customs Clearance Experience.
* Man management experience.
* Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
* Good organisational skills.
* Good IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
