Job Title: Customs Clerk
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:30
Salary: 30,000 - 35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

We are assisting our Dover based client in their search for a Customs Clerk. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations and facilitating the smooth movement of goods through customs checkpoints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit customs documentation in compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate with customs officials to ensure timely clearance of shipments.
  • Verify accuracy of import and export documentation.
  • Classify goods according to tariff coding system.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to customs clearance.
  • Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide updates on shipment status.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working in customs clearance or freight forwarding is essential (minimum of 2 years experience is required)
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
