PSM Recruitment are looking for a Front Office Supervisor to join a successful, fast growing company based in Dover. This is a crucial role for the business, spanning Sales, Environmental agency compliance, Logistics, Credit Control & Administration. Future plans will drive more change in the structure of the company which will provide further opportunities.
You will need to be comfortable working in a busy construction environment, where the ability to efficiently multi-task is a must. You will need to be confident and enjoy dealing with all kinds of different people both face to face and over the phone.
In this role you will be the 'customer service champion’, working hard to juggle priorities, solve issues and give the customers an experience that will have them coming back for more.
Job description
Sales
- Dealing with customers (general public & small builders) both face to face and over the phone, pricing enquiries, advising, taking orders, resolving issues.
- Coordinating customer tipping in the yard by liaising between customers & yard staff.
- Taking orders from customer sites over the phone and via email.
- Maximising the experience for customers by taking ownership of their orders.
- Advise customers of any issues before they advise the company and offer solutions.
- Handle a limited quantity of shop sales, small tools, boots etc.
- Sending promotional emails & texts to generate business.
Logistics
- Monitoring the build-up of customer orders to give early warning of 'spikes’ in demand.
- Keep in regular contact with drivers to check on service levels.
Weighbridge
- Use digital weighbridge to record weights of material tipped in yard and dispatched on trucks.
- Fully complete the relevant material ticket or waste transfer note.
Credit Control
- Monitor customer credit limits when taking orders to ensure there is credit available.
- Chase designated customers for payment to clear outstanding debts.
- Reconciling cash received with tickets.
Administration
- Raising customer invoices on a daily basis.
- Scanning & saving tickets.
- Updating Monthly Waste Return spreadsheet.

- Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Provide a high standard of customer service.
- Possess strong organisational skills, be able to work under pressure and manage workload efficiently.
- Be comfortable using computer systems, including excel and word.
- Have a positive, flexible & proactive attitude to develop the role and help push the business forward.
