Quantity Surveyor - Civil Works - Dover DocksAre you a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in Civil Engineering

We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented individual to join our team in Bury St Edmunds, working on a range of exciting and challenging projects involving highway improvements, maintenance, and associated civil works.About the Role:As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the successful financial management and delivery of our projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and maintaining accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for civil works projects.
  • Managing and negotiating contracts with sub-contractors and suppliers for both disciplines.
  • Monitoring project costs and identifying potential cost overruns for civil works components.
  • Implementing effective cost control measures for both highways and civil works projects.
  • Preparing and analyzing cost reports and providing regular updates to the project team and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant contractual and legal requirements.
  • Assisting with the measurement and valuation of works for civil works.

About You:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on civil works such as drainage, earthworks, and site preparation.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and methods.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in cost management software and tools (e.g., CostX, Asite).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS) is desirable.
