We are working with a tier 1 main contractor who are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to join their team on a full time basis working on Highways and Rivers projects. As the Senior Engineer you will provide site engineering duties to several projects within the South East region, including the supervision of trainees and site engineers within the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake day to day setting out duties with no supervision
  • Train, manage and mentor Junior Engineers
  • Manage and monitor all site sample / performance testing requirements and maintain records in line with the contract specification
  • Complete hazard / risk assessments and method statements
  • Manage the site service plans/ drawings. Issue permits accordingly
  • Assist the site QS / Project Manager with providing the relevant information for records and claims purposes
  • Monitor and control temporary works
  • Develop and maintain relations with client, suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures

What do we need from you?

  • Previous experience in setting out on civil engineering projects, which should include highways, infrastructure, and reinforced concrete works
  • Degree/HNC or equivalent in civil engineering
  • SMSTS
  • CSCS
  • Full UK Driving License
  • First Aid (desirable)
  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

Salary for this role will be dependent upon experience and discussed upon shortlisting.
