Hours: Full time Monday to Friday- 0830am to 330pm

About Us: We are a nurturing place of learning with high expectations for all. We use therapeutic approaches to help students form relationships and learn to self-regulate, demonstrate respect, take responsibility, and understand their own and others’ emotions. Our students have complex needs, primarily SEMH and many with ASD, and join us at various stages from Y1 to Y11, often after being out of education for some time.

Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support our students in their academic and personal development, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of tailored educational programs to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Support students in developing self-regulation, respect, responsibility, and emotional understanding.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and provide one-on-one support to students as needed.
  • Participate in the implementation of therapeutic and restorative approaches, including the Thrive and Trauma Informed approaches.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of classroom materials and activities.
  • Support students during exams and assessments, including Entry Level, Functional Skills, and GCSEs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH and ASD is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the development of young people.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or child development are an advantage.
