We are recruiting an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Dover, offering an immediate start for the right candidate.
About the RoleAs a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children who have special educational needs, providing one-on-one and small group support under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO. Your role will be vital in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, helping students achieve their full potential and fostering their independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting individual children with SEN on a one-to-one basis as well as within small groups.
- Assisting the teacher in planning and implementing tailored learning activities.
- Creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for SEN pupils.
- Monitoring and recording students' progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Assisting with behavioural management in line with the school's policies and best practices.
- Experience working with children within an SEN setting.
- A genuine passion for working with primary-aged children and helping them succeed.
- Patience, resilience, and a caring approach towards supporting students' educational and emotional needs.
- Knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and experience with students on the autism spectrum, with ADHD, or with other learning challenges, is advantageous.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, CACHE, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
