About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and qualified Teacher of ICT/Computing to lead the development of this subject and teach ICT/Computing across the school. At Key Stage 3, students follow the National Curriculum programmes of study and take entry-level qualifications in Year 9. At Key Stage 4, students currently study iMedia GCSE, with able students having previously achieved good grades in Computer Science GCSE.

About the School:We cater to 80 students, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as their primary Special Educational Need (SEN). Many students have additional diagnosed and undiagnosed needs. Despite having a broadly average cognitive profile, behaviour often presents as the biggest barrier to accessing education.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs associated with students who present with SEMH needs and/or Autism
  • Experience working successfully with other agencies to help children achieve positive outcomes
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
