SEND Teacher - Dover

Location: Dover, Kent

Salary: £90 - £220 per day

GSL Education are currently seeking an experienced and qualified SEND Teacher with a Level 5 qualification in Dyslexia/Literacy Development to join the SEN unit of a secondary school in Dover. This role is an exciting opportunity to work with students who have Special Educational Needs, providing them with tailored support to help them achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students with special educational needs, focusing on literacy development and dyslexia.
  • Planning and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student, ensuring learning objectives are met.
  • Working closely with the SENCO and other staff members to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies where necessary.
  • Using a variety of teaching methods to engage students with diverse needs.
  • As a SEND Teacher, you will also collaborate with parents and external agencies to support students' overall development and well-being.

SEND Teacher Requirements:

  • Level 5 qualification in Dyslexia/Literacy Development is essential.
  • Proven experience as a SEND Teacher within a secondary school setting.
  • In-depth understanding of SEN and knowledge of strategies to support students with dyslexia and other learning difficulties.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality in education.
