We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to deliver high-quality, engaging, and inclusive maths lessons to students with special educational needs. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, innovative, and can adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of our students.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other staff members.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages mathematical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support student development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEN education and teaching.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during lessons and activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching, preferably in an SEN setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN and experience working with students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching.

Desirable:

  • Additional qualifications or training in SEN education.
  • Experience with adaptive technologies and resources for SEN students.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in maths education.
