Learning Support Assistant - Deal

Academics in Canterbury are currently working with a specialist SEN school in Deal, Kent, who are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech and Language Therapist. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with their students to assess, diagnose and provide therapeutic interventions tailored to their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of students' speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Develop and implement individualised therapy plans in collaboration with teaching staff and parents.
  • Support students in improving communication skills, including expressive and receptive language, social communication, and articulation.
  • Provide training and advice to staff and parents on communication strategies and interventions.
  • Monitor and assess progress regularly, adjusting plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in accordance with school policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification (or currently working towards one)
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and a caring, patient approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
