Customs Manager

Our independent shipping Client offers a diverse range of transport services and UK customs clearance to customers throughout Europe.  They are currently looking to appoint an experienced Customs Manager to bolster the existing management team at their branch in Dover.

As Customs Manager, you'll be mentoring and motivating the team of customs clearance staff, optimising the efficiency and performance of the business, whilst ensuring compliance.

Customs Manager duties include:

• Staff management (Mentoring, motivating and supporting the team)
• Hands on Operations management
• Profit & Loss responsibility
• Problem solving where required
• Identifying areas to improve the efficiency of the business
• Key Account Management.
• Business development
• Generating and calculating quotations
• Compliance management
• Facilities management
• Attending the weekly operations / sales / management meetings

Experience / skills required:

• 10+ years customs clearance experience
• Management experience
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Good organisational skills
• IT proficient (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

In return, the successful Customs Manager will be offered up to £50,000, in line with experience.
