JUNIOR BUYER

We are recruiting a Junior Buyer to join one of the UK's leading modular building specialists basted in Brandesburton. This is a FTC of 9 months to cover maternity leave, offering a salary of 32,960 per annum.

Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm

The Junior Buyer roll is a fixed term contract of nine months that will commence with immediate effect, however, should you have a notice period with your current employer, we will work around this.

Job description

As a Junior Buyer you will be required to buy materials and other items as required, in line with business requirements at best total cost, ensuring required dates are met and required quality and service is achieved. Your day to day duties will include;

Obtain and negotiate prices, placing purchase orders in line with business requirements, making sourcing decisions based on both cost and non-cost considerations.

Ensure materials are bought on time and at or below target cost.

Challenge overspends, negotiating and minimising the impact to the business.

Ensure key dates are met, identifying critical dates for decisions/information, influencing lead times and flagging potential issues.

Resolve any supply issues.

Maintain accurate procurement records.

Track actual v estimated/target costs, providing accurate reports explaining any savings/overspends.

Support site requests for additional materials, ensuring correct processes are followed and costs allocated correctly.

Develop good relationships with internal customers, stakeholders and suppliers.

Ensure invoice queries are resolved in a timely manner.

The successful candidate:

To be considered for the position of Junior Buyer;

Procurement experience preferred, but not essential.

Extremely well organised, proactive, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Confident and effective communicator.

Excellent numeracy skills (GCSE Maths grade 5/C)

Strong IT skills.
