Are you a skilled Manual Machinist with a passion for precision and craftsmanship? We are seeking a talented Manual Machinist to join our client's small machine shop, where you'll work on manual mills and lathes. Working with both manual and CNC machinery. It is essential that candidates have a strong background in manual machining, as we remain heavily focused on manual processes.
Our client specialises in manufacturing their own products and parts, creating one-offs, prototypes, and small to medium production batches. An enthusiastic approach and keen attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
Machine Operator Key Responsibilities:
- Operate manual lathes and milling machines.
- Manufacture parts to tight tolerances, ensuring they meet our high standards.
- Read and interpret written work instructions, drawings, and other manufacturing documents.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Experience working on a variety of intricate products.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A willingness to learn and a self-motivated attitude.
- A full UK driving license is required due to the location of the business.
- An engineering qualification or HNC is desirable but not essential if you have the necessary skill set.
Additional Information:
- Overtime may be required on an ad hoc basis, paid at time + 1/2.
- Enjoy 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, with a complete shutdown over Christmas (approximately 5 days of holiday are used).
