HGV Class 1driver, multi-drop delivering to high street stores

Overview

We are seeking a reliable HGV Driver to join our team at Yorkshire Trading Co. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods from our suppliers to our store locations and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Transporting of Goods- Safely operate HGV vehicles to deliver pallets to and from designated locations
• Loading and unloading - Loading and unloading goods with a powered pallet truck, ensuring all items are secured and properly stored.
• Route planning - Plan and follow efficient routes to optimise delivery times and reduce costs.
• Vehicle Maintenance - Conduct regular inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance or repair needs.
• Documentation - Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle inspections, and other necessary documentation.
• Customer Service - Provide excellent service to store staff during deliveries, addressing any queries or concerns promptly.
• Compliance - Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies, including compliance with transport legislation.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV License ( C& E category)
• CPC Qualification ( Certificate of Professional Competence)
• Strong understanding of road safety and driving regulations.
• Good communication skills and a customer- focused attitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical fitness to handle manual loading and unloading tasks.
