We are working exclusively with a lovely company in Driffield who are looking for someone to come in as a Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment Manager, reporting to the directors and supporting the business as a whole. Â
What the QHSE Manager job involves
- Act as a single point of contact for all QHSE matters.
- Develop and manage all health and safety policies and programs in compliance with regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify potential hazards.
- Ensuring that future workload is identified and is supported with relevant Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Provide training to employees on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor workplace conditions and ensure adherence to company safety guidelines.
- Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near misses, analysing root causes and making recommendations for corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety laws and regulations and industry best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in quality, health, safety and environmental legislation and industry standards.
- Assisting in the maintenance and implementation of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards.
- Responsible for ensuring that all services which are bought in against contract are in line with HS&E Policies and Procedures.
- Liaison with clients to ensure their contractual and customer expectations are delivered at appropriate level and in line with HS&E requirements.
- Assisting with the ordering and disseminating of the company PPE and health and safety equipment where required.
- Organisation and implementation of the plant data base, coordinating servicing and repairs of plant equipment.
- Monitor, manager and arrange training for all staff on legislative qualifications.
- Completing Bids and Tender documents from the QHSE side of the business.
Skills required
- NEBOSH general certification as a minimum
- Driving Licence essential due to visiting different sites in the region to conduct H&S audits
- Highly organised with a strong attention to detail
- Pro-Active problem solver
- An understanding of SSIP, PAS 91, Constructionline would be beneficial but not essential.
