Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Planner to manage customer sales orders/forecasts and develop weekly production schedules. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring our customer's demands and production deadlines are met by aligning capacity and inventory levels with demand forecasts.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customers to understand their schedules and forecasts.
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and follow up on significant trends and demand changes to provide long- and short-term capacity plans.
  • Receive, input, and maintain customer orders in the SAP system.
  • Work closely with the commercial, production, and purchasing teams to ensure all orders are met.
  • Cooperate with the Technical team to prioritise new designs and design changes to ensure production deadlines are met.
  • Build capacity plans based on resource availability.
  • Analyse production demands and create production schedules based on customer requirements.
  • Liaise with site Coordinators regarding production schedule sign-off and communicate schedules and priorities clearly to the production team.
  • Create, schedule, and if required, re-schedule production orders to ensure OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) delivery to customers.
  • Identify and address production disruptions and bottlenecks, working with site Coordinators to provide viable solutions to maintain OTIF delivery.
  • Ensure timely release of production orders, ensuring plans can be achieved and delivered in line with customer expectations.
  • Monitor inventory levels to minimise excess stock and reduce stock levels.
  • Support logistics operators to ensure OTIF delivery of finished goods to customers.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in full production planning responsibilities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in building and developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MRP functionality within SAP, including scheduling logic, order policies, input/output control, product structures, routings, shop floor control, and product family manufacturing strategies.
  • High levels of commercial acumen.
  • Financial acumen and ability to manage costs effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication.
  • A high-functioning team player with sound judgement and analytically abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Highly driven, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
