Purpose of the Quality and Compliance Manager role:

Our client is looking for a Quality and Compliance Manager to assist the Technical Manager to ensure safe, legal and wholesome product is delivered through the maintenance and continual improvement of the quality management system.


Main duties and responsibilities of a Quality and Compliance Manager:

  • Daily collation and checking of QA paperwork to ensure continues compliance to quality procedures and monitoring of product quality.
  • Carry out sampling and investigations in conjunction with Technical Manager / QA Compliance to find a solution for all product in the problem stock account.
  • Ensure products for rework are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Provide graphical data on microbiological results for product / environmental swabbing.
  • Carry out corrective action in the event of elevated microbiological results.
  • Log complaints in complaints database, carry out initial investigation and discuss corrective actions with the Technical Manager.
  • Produce monthly trend graphs and Report on complaints on operational daily meeting.
  • Carry out internal audits as requested in the internal audit plan.
  • Monthly QHSE inspections to monitor site standards.
  • Validation of training of existing staff to ensure full training matrices are maintained and any training and development needs are identified and implemented.
  • Maintenance of site pest control folder and reporting of corrective action requests to the site Technical Manager

Experience/knowledge requirements for a Quality and Compliance Manager:

  • Accurate, concise and clear written and verbal communication skills to convey information in reports, meetings and status reports.
  • Knowledge and understanding of food safety and HACCP requirements.
  • Detailed knowledge of all process and packing QA/QC procedures.
  • Understanding of customer and BRC standards and requirements.
  • In depth knowledge of product and materials quality parameters and specifications.
  • Knowledge of site/task specific procedures and risk assessments.
  • Conversant with MS Office suite of applications and CS Solutions.
  • Good inter-personal skills, ability to handle stress positively, proactive and prompt problem solving, adaptability to changing circumstances, methodical and meticulous.
  • Patient, and have the ability to adapt training style to meet individual/role needs. Ability to operate under deadlines while still meeting standards
