Position Description Title: Supplier Quality Engineer – FTC

Reports to: Quality Assurance & Manufacturing Engineering Manage

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of materials and components supplied by external vendors meets company and industry standards. The role involves evaluating supplier performance, developing quality standards, conducting audits, and working closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues. The SQE plays a critical role in maintaining and improving the quality of products in the manufacturing process, minimizing defects, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assess potential suppliers' quality systems and capabilities.
  • Participate in supplier selection processes, ensuring they meet required specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct on-site supplier audits to ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards.
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics, including quality, delivery, and compliance.
  • Analyze supplier data and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain supplier quality standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Work with suppliers to develop and implement quality control processes.
  • Ensure incoming materials and components conform to the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues using root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams).
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing supplier quality.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects and improve processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier quality performance, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare quality reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
  • Work closely with internal teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and procurement, to address quality concerns.
  • Support the development of new products by ensuring supplier quality is integrated into the design and production processes. What We're Looking For To thrive in this role, you should bring:

You will have:

  • University Degree or equivalent.
  • 5 years of Supplier Auditing experience working with engineering, manufacturing and distribution operations in an industrial environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality auditing principles, general practices and in-depth knowledge of ISO:9001, 14001, 45001, BS1090, Welding regulations, Process pipework Regulations & EICR Regulations.
