GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a globally successful and highly recognisable manufacturer located in Droitwich. With an exciting 2025 ahead, we are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent contract.
As BDM, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and driving the growth of the company.
The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing, plastics, vacuum forming or CNC trimming and be able to fully adopt the products to identify and target new customers to develop strategic partnerships that align with business objectives.
This is a hybrid position Monday - Friday 08:00am - 17:00pm offering a salary circa £45K which could be negotiable pending relevant industry experience.
There is an expectation that you will be in the office 1-2 days a week, and when required for meetings and updates.
BDM main duties:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through research, networking, and outreach, with the look of setting up meetings to sell the business products.
- You will spend time with the engineers on the shop floor to understand the manufacturing process, to strengthen your sales approach
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and potential clients.
- Create and deliver compelling presentations to prospective clients, showcasing services and solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of client projects and satisfaction.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform strategic planning.
BDM required skills and experience:
- Proven experience in business development or sales roles, within manufacturing, ideally with plastic products
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the capability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
- Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and identify opportunities for growth.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Driving license and access to your own vehicle (Travel is subsidised for work purposes)
