My Local Authority Client based in the West Midlands is currently looking for an interim Building Control Officer/Surveyor on an initial 6-month contract with a likely view to extend.
They are looking for a Surveyor/Officer who is happy with hybrid working. This role will be focused on site inspections, with no office requirement. Paying up to 60 p/h for the ideal candidate - INSIDE OR OUTSIDE IR35
Job Activities:
- Primarily site inspections, including recording the outcome of inspections on computer systems
- Plan checking, including discharge of conditions, and amended plans
- Dangerous structure investigation and enforcement
- Building Regulation enforcement, including investigation of unauthorised works, or property specific complaints
- Responding to general enquiries from the public
- Giving of pre-application advice in any format
Person Specification:
- A member of a relevant professional body, achieved via a Building Control route to membership
- Part qualified members would be considered if they have extensive Building Control work experience
- Must have knowledge and experience of plan checking and site inspections of a broad range of domestic, new houses/flats, and low risk commercial buildings
- Previous experience of dealing with dangerous structures
- Must be ICT literate i.e., able to check plans electronically and be able to use ICT software such as Uniform, Inspection App etc (training provided) without assistance
