An electrical engineer is required for a hugely established OEM of industrial machinery and equipment

This globally recognised leader of specialist capital equipment, is seeking an electrically biased engineer to join their testing department. Working on safety critical equipment, you'll be using a combination of bespoke test rigs, machine build and servicing techniques to ensure all products are fit for purpose before it leaves the site.

Benefits include a basic salary of circa £33 - £35K, overtime paid at Time & ½ after 37 hours during the week, 33 days holiday including bank holidays, a generous pension scheme, yearly bonuses, private healthcare, and life assurance

Responsibilities for the Electrical Engineer include -

  • Full testing and inspection of machinery which include Inverters ranging from 15KW to 15MW
  • Using test rigs to interrogate and test control panels and PLC's
  • Working on hydraulic fluid control systems, water cooling, ancillary panels, and associated panels
  • Connecting machinery to power supplies safely under test conditions
  • Calibration and programming of electronic board and modules (training provided)
  • Use of overhead cranes, working from heights using platforms
  • Using a full range of electrical measuring equipment including multimeters, Oscilloscopes, 3 phase power analysis equipment,

There is a robust training package which is largely based around job shadowing other electrical engineers, to get a comprehensive idea of the machinery, testing facility and processes.

To be successful in this position, we're looking for the following previous experience and skills- Previous experience as a maintenance engineer, or electrical field engineer of capital equipment- Hold a HNC or HNC electrical or electronic engineering - Confidence working with LV & HV switchgear, and inverters that generate MW power - A strong knowledge of power supplies, controls and electrical test equipment is essential- Be able to interpret electrical drawings, circuit diagrams, and both analogue and digital electronic circuitry
