Sea and Air Freight Customer Service Operative

Location: Worcestershire
Salary: Competitive (DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm (part-time hours considered)

We are seeking a dedicated Sea and Air Freight Customer Service Operative to join our clients small, friendly team specialising in sea and air freight. This role involves managing sea and air shipments with a strong focus on exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, overseeing shipments from booking to delivery.
  • Coordinate and monitor the entire start to finish shipping process, liaising with overseas agents and managing import clearance.
  • Provide quotes for sea and air shipments, both import and export.
  • Book shipments with suppliers/carriers using in-house systems and manage invoicing.
  • Address and resolve operational issues, ensuring high service standards throughout.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, delivering outstanding customer satisfaction.

About You:

  • Previous experience in sea and air freight is ideal, though experience in other freight modes (air/road) combined with strong customer service skills will also be considered.
  • A solid understanding of inbound and outbound customs processes.
  • Customer-focused with a strong commitment to exceptional service.
  • Detail-oriented, process-driven, and organized.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and resolving operational challenges efficiently.
