Monarch Education is seeking a passionate and motivated Business Studies Instructor to join a supportive and forward-thinking Special Needs School in Worcester. This is an exciting opportunity for both experienced teachers with QTS and candidates with relevant industry experience or qualifications who are keen to share their expertise with the next generation.
Teaching and Learning:
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Business Studies lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5 (including GCSE and A-Level).
- Adapt and differentiate lesson plans to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, ensuring all learners can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
- Inspire students by integrating real-world business examples, case studies, and up-to-date industry trends into lessons.
- Foster an understanding of key business concepts, including finance, marketing, operations, and entrepreneurship, while promoting critical thinking and analytical skills.
Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain clear rules and expectations for student behaviour to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
- Use effective classroom management strategies to promote respect, collaboration, and focus among students.
- Encourage active participation and discussion, creating an inclusive and supportive atmosphere where students feel comfortable sharing ideas.
Assessment and Feedback:
- Regularly assess student progress through a variety of methods, including assignments, projects, and exams.
- Provide constructive feedback that helps students improve both their knowledge of business concepts and their practical application skills.
- Use assessment data to inform planning, track student progress, and identify areas where additional support may be required.
Curriculum Development:
- Collaborate with the Business Studies department to review and develop the curriculum, ensuring it is relevant, challenging, and engaging.
- Support students in their preparation for GCSE and A-Level exams, ensuring they are well-equipped for success.
Student Welfare and Support:
- Provide pastoral support to students, helping to guide their academic and personal development.
- Build positive relationships with students, providing mentorship and encouragement as they navigate both academic and personal challenges.
- Participate in the wider school community, contributing to extracurricular activities that enhance student development.
Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Work alongside other teaching staff, support staff, and school leaders to improve teaching and learning outcomes for all students.
- Participate in departmental meetings, sharing insights and contributing to the continuous improvement of the Business Studies curriculum.
- Take part in professional development opportunities to further enhance your teaching practice and knowledge of business education.
Qualifications:
- A recognised teaching qualification (QTS) is desirable, but not essential for this role. The school will also consider candidates with relevant industry experience or a degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
Experience:
- Experience of teaching Business Studies at KS3, KS4, and KS5 is preferred but not essential.
- Strong industry experience in business, finance, or a related field can be considered in place of formal teaching experience.
- Experience in using a variety of assessment methods and adapting teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.

- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage students in a dynamic and positive learning environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex business concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
- Passion for Business Studies and the ability to inspire students with a real-world understanding of the subject.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to improve teaching practices and student outcomes.
- A flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving, adapting to the evolving needs of the school and its students.
