GMP Recruitment are currently working with a hugely successful and highly recognised leading international manufacturer located in Droitwich. We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Buyer to join their team on a full time, permanent contract, working Monday - Friday (Days) 37.5 hours a week. Salary £25-26K

As a Graduate Buyer you will be responsible for supporting the continuing development of the supply chain function and facilitate procurement activities to achieve the company's growth plan, with a specific focus on supplier relationship management and compliance. You will support the quality and technical team with reviewing and maintaining supplier quality records to company policy standards and be confident dealing with colleagues at all levels of seniority.

To be considered for this role you must demonstrate good business/commercial acumen and hold strong IT/administrative skills. MRP/ERP experience would be beneficial.

Graduate Buyer main duties:

  • Support and continuously improve the purchasing structure to meet and exceed the business requirements to deliver supply chain excellence in line with business growth plans
  • Work closely with suppliers, promoting good working relationships through effective communication including meetings/visits to develop compliant, sustainable and collaborative relationships.
  • Deploy and uphold purchasing processes and practices that adhere to all regulatory, quality and company policy requirements including the maintenance of all documents including working closely with technical and quality team on supplier compliance and performance structures.
  • Focus on achieving supplier relationship management objectives and report on local metrics, particularly concentrating on supplier compliance
  • Work closely with quality and technical department to review and support compliance documents including the updating-and maintaining of stock codes and supporting the technical team with the generation of purchasing specs
  • Assist in conducting and support internal purchasing audits in collaboration with quality assurance

Graduate Buyer required skills and experience:

  • Good business/commercial acumen
  • Experience of using MRP/ERP systems and MS office suite including
  • intermediate level of excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication including the ability to deal with all levels of stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Awareness/understanding or logistics and warehouse functions would be preferred
