Role Overview:
We are looking for a compassionate and committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team. In this role, you will support students with SEMH, autism, anxiety, and trauma-related needs, offering personalised assistance to help them navigate challenges and achieve success in their education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work one-to-one or with small groups of students to provide tailored support.
* Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
* Develop positive relationships with students to build trust and encourage progress.
* Support students in managing their emotions and behaviours through proactive strategies.
* Promote social, emotional, and academic development in line with individualized education plans (IEPs).
* Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
* Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
* Monitor and document progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching team.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.
* A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students' individual needs.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are advantageous.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
