AL852: HGV EngineerLocation: DroitwichSalary: Up to £18 per hour, dependent on experienceShifts:

  • Early Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Monday to Friday)
  • Late Shift: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM (Monday to Friday)
  • Saturday Overtime: 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM (on PM shift weeks, paid at overtime rate)
  • On-Call: 1 in 4 weeks

OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Engineer to join our clients team in Droitwich. The ideal candidate will be time-served or qualified, with expertise in the maintenance and repair of DAF and Mercedes trucks. This is a full-time position offering a varied shift pattern, including both early and late shifts, along with overtime and on-call duties. You will be part of a dynamic team ensuring the efficient maintenance and repair of our fleet.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on DAF and Mercedes trucks, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with HGVs.
  • Carry out both preventative and reactive maintenance as required.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard in compliance with legal and company regulations.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Work efficiently within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards at all times, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Assist with the management of parts and stock to ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, ensuring 24/7 coverage of fleet requirements.
  • Perform overtime work on Saturdays (06:00 - 12:00) when on PM shift, paid at an overtime rate.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Time-served or fully qualified HGV Engineer.
  • Extensive experience working on DAF and Mercedes trucks.
  • Strong knowledge of HGV mechanics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Full driving license (Category C or CE preferred).
  • Willingness to participate in shift work, overtime, and on-call duties (1 in 4 weeks).
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
