Omega are supporting a leading provider of heat treatment and advanced materials services, to find a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer on a day shift. This exciting opportunity involves maintaining and improving plant equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or electrical maintenance, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to safety and quality.

 

Key Responsibilities – Maintenance Engineer

  • Conduct routine maintenance on plant machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, implementing effective solutions.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and upgrades of equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, following company procedures and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify areas for improvement and implement maintenance strategies that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and equipment performance, ensuring all data is up to date.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems, providing technical expertise as required.

 

Qualifications & Requirements – Maintenance Engineer

  • Electrical qualification is essential together with mechanical aptitude.
  • Flexibility to working hours to react to breakdowns/contractor supervision etc.
  • City & Guilds/BTEC Qualification in Engineering or similar.
