Buyer – Dronfield - £35,000 - £40,000Elevation Recruitment Group are proud to be partnering with an established manufacturing business based in Dronfield who are looking to recruit a Buyer to join their team.As Buyer, you will play a key member of the supply chain team and will be primarily responsible for indirect procurement activities and contributing to the overall procurement efficiency.Benefits:

Buyer Duties:

  • Manage procurement of indirect materials and consumables based on Material Resource Planning (MRP) signals and purchase requisitions, while supporting direct materials procurement as needed to balance team workload
  • Serve as the primary contact for the purchase requisition process, ensuring timely receipt, consolidation, and processing within approval limits
  • Maintain purchasing data, including supplier parameters, price lists and lead times
  • Develop and sustain supplier relationships, monitor performance metrics, and drive supplier performance improvement
  • Coordinate and expedite RFQs, commercial and technical clarifications, and material quotations to support engineering and estimation processes
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and maintain quality documentation to uphold ISO standards.
  • Manage inventory value within assigned scope, optimizing batch sizes and minimum order quantities (MOQs) to minimize financial impact and prevent excess stock
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, research new suppliers, and drive process improvements in sourcing and purchasing strategies
  • Support supply agreements and contracts, ensuring vendor compliance with quality and performance standards
  • Continuously seek and implement improvements within the supply chain to enhance operational efficiency

Hours: Full time Monday – Friday 36 hours per week (flexible)Required skills & experience:

  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing business
  • Previous purchasing experience
  • Strong negotiation experience
  • Customer facing with strong written and verbal communication skills
