About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HGV Test Centre Manager to oversee the operations of a busy test centre in Cramlington, Northumberland. This role involves managing the workshop and test centre with a focus on efficiency, productivity, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the test centre and workshop
Drive business development and sales growth
Manage budget and cost control
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Develop strong customer relationships and maintain fleet service efficiency
Plan and schedule workloads, including the ATF lane
Collaborate with the DVSA for smooth operations
Negotiate with suppliers for competitive pricing on parts
Oversee invoicing systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency

Requirements:

Proven supervisory or managerial experience in an HGV workshop environment
Strong background in servicing and repairing HGVs, PCVs, and light commercial vehicles
Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications or time-served in HGV repair and maintenance
Leadership experience managing a team of technicians
Strong IT, organisational, prioritisation, and communication skills
Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach
HGV Class 1 Driving Licence (preferred but not essential)

Experience:

Driving: 2 years (preferred)
Driver CPC (preferred)
