Our client has been established for more than 70 years and are internationally renowned market leaders in the development and manufacture of precision stamping and pressing applications for an impressive range of clients throughout the world, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Toolroom Supervisor to complement their professional Production Division.

Reporting to the UK General Manager and working in an ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO14001 and IATF16949 accredited environment based near Dudley, the successful Toolroom Supervisor candidate will be tasked with managing a team of individuals who are responsible for making or improving different types of tools to enable the production processes within the manufacturing facility to be as efficient as possible.

Core responsibilities for this varied and challenging role will include (but not be limited to):

  • Being responsible for all aspects of in-house tool manufacturing, maintenance, development and testing activities to ensure that business objectives are met, whilst maximizing productivity and maintaining the highest levels of workmanship for all tooling activities.
  • Leading and coordinating resources within the Toolroom to ensure all tooling is produced efficiently, on time and in line with relevant quality standards whilst ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to at all times.
  • Managing the team on technical best practice and established standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading them.
  • Implementing and managing continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
  • Working towards achieving set quality objectives with the goal of continuously improving customer satisfaction
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities
  • Identifying and promoting technological awareness and innovation

To be considered for this exciting Toolroom Supervisor opportunity it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate proven leadership and man-management skills gained in a precision tooling and manufacturing environment, with excellent interpersonal skills at all levels and the ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members. With excellent organizational and follow-up skills and strong commercial awareness, you will be skilled in all aspects of problem solving, team building, planning and decision making in a fast-paced engineering production environment, and will possess relevant engineering qualifications.
