Our client are part of a large organisation. Due to continued growth they are looking for a Press Toolmaker on a permanent basis.
Duties include:
Service & repair of multi-stage progression tools which includes the following:
- Clean & degrease press tools taken out of production.
- Assembly & dismantling of press tools to regrind parts / replace tooling punches & dies.
- Manufacture new tooling parts using conventional tool room equipment i.e.. Surface grinders, miller, drilling machine and lathe.
- Carrying out preventative die maintenance (PDM), problem solving and contribute to the development of the tool room.
- Assist setters in the press shop with any tooling adjustments or repairs to preferably keep tooling in production
- Assist the setters with locating any parts kept within the tool to ensure the correct parts are fitted to avoid unnecessary tooling damage
- Manufacture tooling parts in the event of a breakdown keeping the tools running in production to reduce any downtime to a minimum
- General housekeeping to maintain a clean & safe working environment.
- Inform tooling engineer of any tooling modification carried out to either tools or parts so these can be documented, and designs updated if required.
The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, approachable and be receptive to instruction whilst remaining competent eventually being able to work on own their own initiative without the need for supervision.
Candidate must be willing to work overtime as and when required to assist in urgent tooling repairs and spares manufacture.
A crane & forklift licence is required but not essential on application as training will be provided.
