SEND Teaching Assistant required in Dudley! 

£80-£95 per day

January 2025 start

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a SEND Teaching Assistant in a friendly mainstream Primary School based in Dudley. The primary school is looking for an experienced and talented SEN TA to support their classrooms and bring a new energy to the school. The needs of the school are only mild SEND so general TA work will make up most of your day. The school has really passionate staff with a real community feel so they would like someone who can mould into the setting and really bed themselves in at the school.

Do you hold a Level 2 NVQ or above?

Have you provided 1-1 or small group SEND TA work before?

Are you comfortable working with children with SEND?

The role will include:

  • Offering students additional support on a 1-1 basis
  • Supporting small groups of students
  • Supporting with diverse learning needs
  • Providing guidance and encouragement
  • Dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Helping create and maintain and positive working environment
  • Leading group work
  • Liaising with the class teacher and SENDCo, SLT, parent’s or carers when appropriate
  • Helping the class teacher with pupil observations
  • Monitoring student's progress

Roles requirements:

  • At least 12 months experience supporting children in a school environment
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with students and staff
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent behavioural management skills
  • Availability to work 8:15-3:45 term time

This position will start in September 2024 and will continue for at least the first school term. For the right candidate, the position could be extended to the end of the academic year July 2025.

The school are ideally looking for someone who is able to commit to a full time role (Monday-Friday), but Part-time may also be considered.
