Our client, a Major Steel Stockholder based in Dudley, is seeking a Maintenance Fitter for a permanent position.
The role offers an annual salary ranging from £34,000 to £40,000 depending on experience.
The Maintenance Fitter will work rotating shifts from Monday to Friday, either 6am to 2pm or 2pm to 10pm.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in Mechanical Fitting or a similar environment, along with relevant qualifications.
Key responsibilities include repairing machinery, MIG welding, fault finding, and performing planned preventative maintenance.

Annual Salary:34,000 to 40,000 (DOE)

Weekly Hours:Mon - Fri: 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm rotating shift

Duties of the Maintenance Fitter:

Sourcing & repairing Power Presses, Rolling Mills and other machines
MIG Welding and Fabrication
Read engineering drawings
Working with 3 phase electrical control systems to include contactor, inverter circuits, Motors, and Safety circuits.
Fault finding and problem solving
Planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
Keep an accurate log of all work carried out

Experience & Skills:

At least 5 years experience Mechanical Fitting or similar environment
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent
17th or 18th Edition in Electrical
Willing to learn new skills
Self-initiative
Strong communication in a team
