Key Responsibilities:
- Study engineering drawings and job orders to determine material requirements and operational sequences.
- Plan and execute machining activities based on work orders and specifications.
- Inspect finished work piecesusing instruments such as gauges and micrometers to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Safely lift and position metal stock or work piecesusing manual methods or crane hoists.
- Adjust machine controls to set cutting speeds, depths, and feed rates for optimal machining.
- Oversee the entire machining process to maintain the highest quality standards.
- Troubleshoot machining issues to enhance procedural efficiency.
- Develop and implement tooling and fixing improvement solutions as needed.
- Complete all required reports and documentation related to machining projects.
- Perform regular and preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools.
Experience required:
- Proven experience operating conventional lathes and turning machines.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Strong understanding of machining processes and tools.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining machinery.
- Commitment to upholding safety and quality standards.
Hours of work:
37 hours per week
8am-4.30pm Monday to Thursday
8am-1pm Friday
Rate of pay:
12-15 per hour
