Location: Stourbridge, Dudley (DY9)
Pay: 395-430 per week take home (after tax and NI)
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Are you a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a difference in a young child's life?


We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in EYFS/KS1 who has autism, speech and language needs, and is non-verbal. This full-time role is based in a welcoming and supportive primary school in the DY9 area of Dudley (Stourbridge).

About the Role:

This role involves working closely with a child on a 1:1 basis, supporting their learning and development within a mainstream classroom setting. You will play a crucial role in helping the child access the curriculum and achieve their potential by providing tailored support throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 support for a child with autism and communication needs
  • Supporting language development and non-verbal communication techniques (e.g., PECs, visual timetables)
  • Assisting with social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Adapting learning materials and activities to meet the child's needs
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised strategies
  • Recording progress and contributing to reviews and planning meetings

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working with EYFS and/or KS1 pupils
  • Previous SEN experience, particularly autism and speech/language needs
  • Calm, patient, and empathetic nature
  • Confidence using visual aids and alternative communication strategies
  • Ideally, a minimum of 1 year's experience in a school setting
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEND training) is desirable.
