Monday - Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm

Full Time : Contract or Permanent position.

Dedicated engineering services for the life sciences, food and beverage, automotive and aerospace industries, the company has tailored specialist engineering solutions to many of the world's largest manufacturers. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Design Lead to join the Life Sciences team supporting mechanical and electrical building services projects across the UK, from the company's regional office in Dukinfield.

Duties

As a design lead with building services experience, ideally within the pharmaceutical and health care industry, particularly the construction of laboratories and clean rooms, you will have the ability to generate commercial designs with an eye for providing unique solutions. With responsibility to lead a multidisciplinary design team from appointment to completion of the project you will oversee the design, technical specification and commercial success of the installation. Along with being the primary point of contact for the client until the construction team are appointed you will have a full understanding of the form of appointment and tasks/deliverables required of it. In addition to programming the production of relevant information across disciplines you will also monitor and control the design operations to achieve project targets, including the management of internal and external consultants. Other duties will include conducting buildability reviews with the construction team and Principal Designer recording any decision made to amend designs to improve programme and/or commerciality then liaising with the estimating team to provide cost advice.

About You

Ideally in Greater Manchester you will need to live within a commutable distance of SK16 4PQ. This is an office-based role

Demonstrable experience of leading the design and co-ordination of turnkey projects including construction, HVAC, mechanical and electrical works. Experience within the pharmaceutical and health care markets, particularly in the construction of laboratories and clean rooms would be advantageous

Knowledge of ISO19650 in association with the UK BIM Framework, ISO9001:2015 quality systems and CDM regulations, accompanied by the ability to operate at a senior level.

Minimum HNC Qualified in a Building Services or Building Studies subject. You will be conversant with Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Process and Public Health Design with an understanding of Integrated Environmental Solutions - VE, M-Files and Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Projects.
